Case has been with officer since 2/28 at NBC

Emma says my I-485 EB3 case has been with an officer at NBC since 2/28 and the officer is still not done with it. Does that mean im very close to being transferred to a FO or is that some bs Emma gives out to end the conversation early.

Is it based on the last update given by Emma? I have been in the same situation, current since 1st Jan according to the FAD table, I ask Emma weekly that what the latest update is. They usually say some nonsense and it is at NBC. Last week they said that the last time it was looked at was 2/28. Based on my research when Emma says this, it is absolutely nonsense and has no basis in reality. It is very likely you will hear different dates if you keep asking the same question. I think they say this so that I just give up and don't ask them questions.

I was told before it was last reviewed at 2/23. Then this time she even said the case had been with an officer since 2/28 and once the officer is done it would get transferred to a FO. Why do they even have this Emma thing if they are just gonna lie anyway?!

As I mentioned before the main reason of lying is so that you stop contacting them. They can see when you have contacted them, once one Emma agent gave me the date I last reached out to them (like a few days prior) and implying that why am I reaching out too many times and there has been no update since. From some point on they will give these false info. Note that they are not there to help you but to help USCIS by diverting the traffic from them and dissuading them from contacting. If you want a slightly higher quality communication you should call USCIS everyday. They might put you in contact with a tier 2 agent that has more info, or sometimes they put service request (that usually goes to nowhere).
